The Tompkins County Public Library Board of Trustees invites the community to a finalist candidate presentation for the position of library director on Thursday, September 15 at 5:30 p.m. Organized by the Library Director Search Committee, the presentation is an opportunity for the public to hear directly from the finalist.

National Search for New Library Director Underway
The search for a new director for Tompkins County Public Library (TCPL) is actively underway with a national advertising campaign and a 15-member search committee. Interested applicants are encouraged to review online information about the library and the position and to apply on the Tompkins County Human Resources application site by July 1, 2022.

Service Update, March 2022
With the lifting of many COVID-19 restrictions in New York, we continue to revise and update our services here at TCPL.

10th Annual READATHON
The Tompkins County Public Library Foundation’s READATHON, the annual read-out-loud fundraising event, will take place on May 7, 2022. After two years as a virtual event due to Covid-19, this year’s READATHON will be a hybrid, utilizing both in-person and prerecorded readers. Celebrating its tenth year, the READATHON enlists readers to raise funds for the Library, culminating in a day-long celebration of literacy. The goal for this year’s READATHON is $35,000, which will be used to purchase materials for the library’s collection, such as books, movies, music, and more.

Call for Proposals: TCPL Teen Center Mural
We're excited to announce a search for artists to paint a mural that celebrates our Equity Statement. We're asking for submissions that feel youthful and appropriate for a teen audience. Successful applicants are comfortable working with teen volunteers to complete the project. A jury to award $2,000 will be assembled in November, including teen library users and TCPL staff.
