TCPL Kicks Off Information Saves Lives Program with Harm Reduction Resource Fair

The Tompkins County Public Library is seeking qualified, inclusive, and collaborative candidates for our new Library Communications Coordinator role. The position is a full-time, 40 hour-per-week exempt position, and is part of the Tompkins County Civil Service system. The position is in-person at the Library’s Green Street location.

TCPL is welcoming fall with 3 great book clubs for kids & teens! Our Early Readers Book Club will be reading Orris and Trimble by Kate DiCamillo. This club is for kids in K-2 who have graduated from storytime and are being introduced to “learn-to-read” techniques in school. Our staff select engaging, emerging reader books to help foster the love of books and reading, and to help build social skills. Parents and caregivers are welcome to join us.

Summer reading is for everyone! This summer, TCPL has a full array of fun events for an adult audience. From crafts to field trips, there are many ways to get involved. Also, you are invited to fill out review cards for each book you read, to be entered into our summer raffles! Every short review is an entry, so read all summer and drop off reviews by August 15 for your chance to win. (You can find kids' summer reading info here!)

Celebrate Pride all month long with some great events here at TCPL. Drop into our Queer Craft Club on Monday June 10 and join other LGBTQIA+ adults to make arts and crafts, hang out, and have fun.. Rainbow Family Fridays meets this month on FridayJune 14.

Summer is almost here and that means SUMMER READING! Join us for an epic Summer Reading Adventure with us at TCPL, beginning June 15. We have plenty of fun in store for you. Stop by our Youth Services department and pick up a Reading Adventure Map. This map is where you can keep track of your reading for the summer, and complete some cool side quests. Don't worry, it has instructions, and our staff is here to answer any questions you might have!

The TCPL Foundation is hosting a SILENT READING PARTY, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 6 - 9 pm at Argos Warehouse.

Can you believe we have given away 6800 pairs of eclipse glasses for the solar eclipse happening on April 8? We are out of glasses here at TCPL, but fear not! On April 6 & 7 we will have solar eclipse viewer Make & Take kits available. That's right, you can make your own pair of eclipse viewers! They will only be available while supplies last so stop by Saturday, April 6 anytime from 10 am to 4:30 pm, or Sunday between 1 and 4:30 pm, and pick up a kit.
