Taught by Kris Altucher, this is an all-levels Vinyasa Flow style yoga class, adaptable for people with different levels of fitness (it does involve sitting on a mat and standing up from the floor). In Vinyasa yoga the poses are linked together in a flow, in coordination with breath, and often with music. Participants should bring a yoga mat if they have one or a towel if they do not, and wear comfortable clothes that they can move and stretch in.
Kris has been finding joy in yoga for close to 10 years. She has found that yoga helps her find the calm in the center of her life and allows her to live more freely in her body. She recently completed a 200-hour teacher training in Vinyasa Flow yoga at Mighty Yoga in Ithaca.
Kris believes that yoga has something to offer all of us, at all stages of life and fitness, and she’s eager to help others explore yoga.
This is a series of four classes, though you do not have to participate in all of them. Registration for the next class will open after the previous class has completed. If for some reason you register but cannot attend, please be sure to cancel your registration or contact the librarian so that others might sign up.
