Program Description

About this event:

Join Katy Holloway and Cora Feldt of Girl Scout Troop 40169 as they demonstrate how to make toys to donate to children who have had surgery at Cayuga Medical Center.

This project is to make toys to donate to the hospital so that kids can have age-appropriate, gender-neutral toys after surgery. This is important because if a kid has just gone through surgery, they might be lonely or depressed or sad, and having a toy would cheer them up. And it's not just good for the kids - it's helpful to the parents of those kids, and the nurses who are working with them, because if the kid is happier they might be more willing to do what the nurse needs them to do to be healthy.

Registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Registrants will also have the opportunity to pick up a kit of supplies to make the dolls along with Katy and Cora during the workshop. The dolls must be returned to TCPL to be distributed to children at Cayuga Medical Center. For more information about the project, visit their website
