About this event:
In celebration of Will Eisner Week, TCPL is offering a mecha miniature scratch building event at the Makerspace. Mecha, droids, and robots have been used in speculative fiction since Karel Čapek's 1920 play, Rossum's Universal Robots. Graphic novels and comics have made no exceptions in featuring these mechanical wonders as villainous armies, mindless armor, heroic artificial intelligence, and man's best friend.
TCPL is inviting adult and teen (16+) patrons to the Makerspace for some miniature scratch building! At this event, participants will have the opportunity to craft their own fictional mechanical marvel in miniature form. No art or robotics experience required, TCPL staff and volunteers will provide short tutorials on the basics of scratch building and miniature painting. All materials will be provided. Registration and mask-wearing are required to participate in this event.
