Program Description

About this event:

Join the Roper Center and Tompkins County Public Library for an informational workshop on America's Voice Project.  Roper Center presenters, Alexis Bortle and Kathleen Weldon, will start with a brief overview of understanding polls, and then provide a demonstration on how to use your America's Voice Project access to the Roper iPoll database to search for poll questions.  With elections coming up, polls are making headlines more than ever. But how do you evaluate a poll’s quality?  The Roper Center is the world’s largest public opinion data archive with survey data from more than 120 different countries and U.S. data from 1935 to today.  America’s Voice Project is the Center’s endeavor to educate the public through their local libraries about the thoughts, feelings, attitudes, opinions, behaviors, and beliefs of their fellow Americans.
