Program Description

About this event:

Join staff from LawNY for their second session in their Community Based Legal Education workshop series.  The first step in removing arrest and conviction record barriers is to know what’s on your RAP sheet – your legal Record of Arrest and Prosecution. To get a copy of your RAP sheet from NYS, you need an authorized fingerprint. Attendees will learn:

  • About your rights that pertain to disclosure of RAP Sheets
  • How to apply for a copy of your RAP Sheet
  • How to maintain confidentiality of your conviction records
  • Where to get help if assistance is needed in understanding or correcting your RAP sheet

Income eligible attendees will receive a free copy of their fingerprint on-site. Photo ID required, bring a public benefits card, if applicable. All information shared will be kept strictly confidential.

**For patrons interested in attending this event by Zoom, please email Tom, tfredette@tcpl.org, to request the Zoom meeting log in information.
