Program Description

About this event:

Join us for a discussion with author Becky Ferreira about her new book, First Contact: The Story of Our Obsession with Aliens.

First Contact is concise primer for the many meanings of “alien” to people of the past, present, and future—from sky gods to The X-Files to the hard science of the search for extraterrestrial life. The book offers a flashy visual tour that explores how the long-sought discovery of alien life might impact humanity—and what it would mean if we never get there.

"Budding ufologists and alien skeptics alike will find something that alters their previous perceptions, providing enlightenment for anyone interested in discerning what lies beyond the stars." -- Booklist
