Program Description

About this event:

The READATHON is our annual challenge to read out loud - one reader at a time, 30 minutes each, all day long - to raise funds for our public library. This year our goal is to raise $25,000 with your help. Take a stand (or a comfy seat!) and help raise money and promote literacy.   In an effort to maintain safe physical distance while still sharing the love of literacy with our community (and beyond), the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation will be doing our first-ever Virtual READATHON. Join us on Saturday, April 25th starting at 8:00am, livestreaming at www.tcplfoundation.org and www.facebook.com/TCPLFoundation    Every dollar raised in the READATHON helps to buy books and other materials our community needs.  TCPL lends nearly a million items each year—a remarkably high level for a community of our size—and 100% of the funding for annual purchases comes from private support like the funds raised by our READATHON readers. We need your help to keep us all reading and learning!
