Exploring the Camino de Santiago

Primary tabs

Event Description

This is the second of two meetings required to form a local chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino. We will talk about the history of pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago and the liturgical Feast of St. James. The symbol of the Camino is a scallop shell, and we will perform a shell ceremony as a blessing for those undertaking a camino in the coming year. (Although the Camino is traditionally associated with Catholic pilgrimage, people of all faiths or no faith are welcome.) Weather permitting, we will follow the meeting with a walk on the South Hill Recreation Trail.
