Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children - Knowledge & Skills

Primary tabs

Event Description

The Advocacy Center is offering this FREE training program for youth serving professionals and local therapists working with sexually exploited youth. This program is for professionals who have some background training in commercial sexual exploitation of children, and or child sexual abuse.

'Part Two: Knowledge and Skills' builds on the foundational knowledge gained in Part One and reinforces practical skills
for working with survivors of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) and youth trafficking. These skills include methods on how to discuss CSEC and youth trafficking with colleagues and professionals, how to engage in supporting organizational changes in youth serving programs to promote safety and prevent
vulnerabilities that could lead to CSEC. This second module delves into creating individualized safety plans to support CSEC and trafficked youth survivors in their emotional and physical needs. Additionally this program recognizes the impact vicarious trauma can have on professionals who work with CSEC and trafficked youth.
