Program Description

About this event:

As a part of Spring Writes Festival, local poets will have the opportunity to showcase their work during a free open mic event. Local poet and advocate, Tierra Labrada will be hosting this poetry reading.  The event is open to poets of all ages and experience levels. Poetry will focus on the theme of Space.

Registration for poets to read their work begins at 3:30pm in front of the Ezra Cornell Reading Room.  Poets will have a maximum of five minutes to read their work.

Tierra Labrada is a local poet, organizer and founder of The Empowerment Project, a grassroots program aimed at the empowerment of young black and brown people. She currently resides in NYC and hopes to one day complete the poem she's been working on for over a year.
