Program Description

About this event:

Older adults, their family members and caregivers are invited to join Cornell Health Advocacy Topics (CHAT), for an interactive workshop on finding health information online at Tompkins County Public Library on Saturday, October 13th from 2:00 to 4:00pm in the Library’s new Digital Lab.

Part of the Library’s Ask a Professional series, this workshop will focus on searching for health and medical information on the internet, which can often be an overwhelming experience. This session will introduce you to helpful websites and discuss ways to identify reliable resources.  Funding for this program is provided by the Finger Lakes Library System.

Cornell Health Advocacy Topics (CHAT) works to help patients better understand and better manage their health. CHAT aims to teach patients how to be effective advocates for their own healthcare. We do this through community outreach and volunteering, teaching patients how to be effective self-advocates for their health, and gaining a better understanding of challenges patients face.
