We launched our new space-themed website on November 20th but soon decided the site needed an astronaut to keep you company. After narrowing it down to five very promising animals, we opened up the polls and let you vote for your favorite ‘webstronaut.’
Twenty-five days and 66 votes later, the results are in and Mars-Rover the Dog has won. Named after Cornell’s Department of Astronomy and their involvement in the mission to Mars, Mars-Rover the Dog received 31% of the votes.
After being sworn in, Mars-Rover was quoted to barking, “I promise to do a Doggone-good job.” His position officially starts after the New Year.
