Relations are pleased to offer a coffee house discussion for this year's
Ithaca Reads Things Fall Apart: a Cornell/Community Collaboration. Renowned
Cornell professor, author, and poet Robert Morgan will facilitate a discussion
of the William Butler Yeats' poem "The Second Coming,"
and its role in Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart.
Join us for coffee and lively discussion on October 19th
at 7 p.m. Professor Morgan, author of the best-selling Gap Creek,
and winner of several awards for his prose and poetry, will provide his
own interpretation of the poem and how it is tied to Achebe's work. Participants
will be able to share their comments and ask questions about "The
Second Coming," its substance and structure, and its role in the book.
