The Tompkins County Public Library hosted a reception on Sunday, January 11 at 2 p.m. to honor the donors who made Sunday hours possible. New York State Senators James Seward and Randy Kuhl were present and provided remarks about their joint support. Other donors include Art Kuckes and the Brooks Family Foundation.

The library re-opened on Sundays in 2004 due to the generosity and support of donors and state representatives after an eight-month hiatus. Almost 1000 people visit the library on Sundays, making it the second busiest day of the week, after Saturday.
