Library to Host 3-D mars Presentation

Take a 3-D tour of Mars at the Tompkins County Public Library, Thursday, December 11th at 6:00 PM in the BorgWarner Community Meeting Room.

Cornell Professor Jim Bell, lead scientist for the Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity Pancam color stereo cameras, will give a 3-D presentation of his new book Mars 3-D: A Rover's Eye View of the Red Planet.

Participants will experience some of the rolling hills, rocky slopes and steep cliffs of Mars through the eyes of two of NASA's most intrepid rovers. Bell will also share stories of some of the rovers' most important scientific and exploration-related discoveries.

Copies of Bell's book will be available for sale at the event courtesy of Bookery II, and Bell will be available to sign copies immediately following the event.

This program is free and open to the public and 3-D glasses will be provided at no charge.
