Library Sunday Hours Now Fully Funded
The Tompkins County Public Library is pleased to announce that it has achieved full funding of Sunday hours in 2008. A $15,000 legislative grant from Senator George H. Winner Jr., (R 53rd).and additional gifts from donors to the Tompkins County Foundation will make it possible for the library to be open from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, Sundays from January through May and September through December.
“We are deeply grateful for Senator Winner’s commitment to literacy and the residents of Tompkins County,” Library Director Janet Steiner said. “The library was in serious jeopardy of losing a portion of Sunday hours, but with the help of the Senator and the generosity of the Tompkins County Library Foundation’s donors, we can once again offer these valuable hours for our patrons to enjoy and explore the Library.”
The Tompkins County Library is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 8:15 PM, Friday and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sundays (January 13th through May 18th) from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.
