Celebrate Teen Read Week!
Area teens will be reading ‘for the fun of it’ as the Tompkins County Public Library celebrates the Tenth Annual Teen Read Week™ October 14 through 20, 2007.
TCPL joins thousands of libraries, schools, and bookstores across the country in encouraging teens to read just 'for the fun of it' ®. Teen Read Week™ is the national adolescent literacy initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association.
TCPL is celebrating Teen Read Week locally by offering the following activities:

- Scrapbooking Workshop for ages 12 through 17 on October 16th from 4:30 -7:00 PM in the Thaler-Howell Program Room.
- Vote for your favorite book at www.ala.org/teenstopten.
- Post book reviews to the Library’s Teen Book Blog or fill out in-house reviews.
- BookTalks, a presentation with author Pamela Ehrenberg, on October 20th from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.
- Enter the YouTube I Like My Library video contest and win!
Stop by the Tompkins County Public Library during Teen Read Week to laugh with a humorous book. This year’s theme is Laugh Out Loud at Your Library and a collection of humorous titles are available in-house or online at tcpl.org/teen. The first 15 teens to stop by the Youth Services reference desk introduce themselves and say “Happy Teen Read Week” will receive a flip pen and highlighter.
TCPL’s 2006-2007 teen programs are made possible by the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation through a grant from the J. M. McDonald Foundation.
