Visual Culture at IHS

VISUAL CULTURE at IHS - the Annual IHS Student Art Exhibit will be displayed at Tompkins County Public Library during June, 2007. An opening reception will be held in the Borg Warner Community Room at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 8.
Tompkins County Public Library is delighted to be able to offer Ithaca High School a prominent location to exhibit some of the art work which their students have created during the school year 2006-07. The library will showcase the art during the month of June.
The art students want to talk about what they see happening through their art; drawings, paintings, mixed media, prints and photographs. Their images are personal portraits and perspectives of their school, their friends, their lives. Text and image, symbolism, faces and places are presented as a visual dialogue of these young artists’ lives.
Support from the ICSD and a grant from the Fine Arts Booster Group have made the mounting of this show possible.
For further information about the work please contact Carol Spence at 274-2239 or cspence@icsd.k12.ny.us.
