Rosetta Stone Online Language Learning Workshop

The Tompkins County Public Library will offer free workshops to demonstrate the Rosetta Stone Online Language Learning program on Saturday, May 5th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 17th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Want to learn another language? Are you planning a trip abroad? Do you know someone who’s trying to improve their knowledge of English? Like over 5,000,000 learners in over 100 countries, you can use the Rosetta Stone for your language-learning success! The program is easy to use with thousands of real-life images, written text and voices of native speakers teaching 30 world languages including Chinese, English, Italian, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese.

The Rosetta Stone program, which is free to all Tompkins County Public Library card holders and library patrons within the Finger Lakes Library System will be demonstrated by adult services librarian, Joyce Wheatley. Other language learning materials at the library, including tapes, CDs, DVDs and books from other countries will also be presented.

The Rosetta Stone program and World Language books are made possible through funding from the Friends of the Library, the Triad Foundation and the Finger Lakes Library System.

You can pre-register online for this workshop from the library website http://www.tcpl.org/programs/rosetta.html or by calling 272-4556. Pre-registration is appreciated but not required. For more information, please contact Joyce Wheatley at 272-4557 ext. 257, jwheatley@tcpl.org. This presentation may be difficult or frustrating for people with limited English.
