Tim Joseph, Chair of the County Legislature, has declared October 12, 2005 as TCPL Staff Recognition Day

Proclamation

Whereas the Tompkins County Legislature recognizes that the staff of the Tompkins County Public Library are integral to the success of the library in meeting its mission of connecting people to information; and

Whereas Tompkins County Legislature recognizes that the staff of the Tompkins County Public Library are committed to providing outstanding customer service to all library users; and

Whereas the comments from many library users indicate that the staff of the Tompkins County Public Library serves its users in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner, provides prompt attention and service, accurate and clear information and results which meet or exceed expectations; and

Whereas the Tompkins County Legislature wishes to thank the staff of the Tompkins County Public because they have met the challenge of delivering more services to the community with less resources; and

Whereas the Tompkins County Legislature also wishes to thank the staff of the Tompkins County Public Library for working as a cohesive team to ensure that the migration to a new computer system, Polaris, was successful;

Now therefore I, Tim Joseph, Chair of the Tompkins County Legislature, do hereby proclaim October 12, 2005 as

Tompkins County Public Library Staff Recognition Day

And call upon all citizens to express their gratitude to the staff for the work that they do to bring outstanding library services to this community.
