Love is in the air at the Library this February as the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Tompkins County Public Library join forces to celebrate Library Lovers Month.

Tompkins County Public Library this February
- Adopt a book as a Valentine for your Sweetie
Saturday, February 4 and 11 at TCPL
Adopt a book for your sweetie! A bookplate in their honor will be put in the book of your choice and we will send them a valentine heart telling them of your gift.
$25 adopts a book in Youth Services and $50 adopts an Adult Book.
- Buy a Valentine Heart in support of the Library at The Shops at Ithaca Mall
Saturday, February 11, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM at the Mall
Visit our kiosk near the Food Court at The Shops at Ithaca Mall and buy a Valentine Heart for all your loved ones for only $1. The Valentine Hearts will be displayed at the Library during February. All proceeds from the sale of Valentine Hearts will go to support Library programs.
- Star in a READ poster
Saturday, February 18, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at TCPL
Have your photo taken alone or with family or friends at the Library – holding your favorite book, of course! For $10, Cornell’s Panhellenic Association will create a READ poster with your photograph. All proceeds from the sale of these posters will go to support Library programs.
- Bid in the Art and Science of Quilting Small Quilt Auction
Tuesday, February 28, 6:00 PM in BorgWarner Community Room
A Silent Auction will be taking place throughout the month of February with final bids being place on Monday, February 27. Find out how you can participate in the auction by visiting the reference desk at the Library. The 5 quilts that receive the highest bids will move on to the Live Auction on February, 28. All proceeds from the auction will go to support Library programs.
