Library Lovers Month
Together, the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Tompkins County Public Library are asking individuals, families, businesses and organizations to show their love this February by:
- Visiting the Library and taking advantage of all the resources it has to offer;
- Recognizing a friend or family member with a gift to the Library in their honor, for a birthday, retirement or other special occasion;
- Becoming a member of the Friends of the Library at www.booksale.org/membership
- Volunteering! From shelving DVDs to helping at story time, help the Library staff make a difference in the lives of their patrons;
- Donating your gently used books, CDs and DVDs to the Friends of the Library book sale;
- Telling your favorite librarian how much you appreciate his/her work;
- Memorializing a loved one with a gift to the Library in their name;
- Helping out at the Friends of the Library spring book sale May 5-7, 12-14 and 19-22;
- Buying a copy of the newly released TCPL cookbook The Library Table: Recipes from Readers and Food for the Mind, on sale now for $10.00;
- Starring in a READ poster by having your photo taken alone or with family or friends – holding your favorite book, of course! – at TCPL on Saturday, February 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $10 per poster;
- Buying a heart at the Library’s display table at The Shops at Ithaca Mall on Saturday, February 11, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for $1.00;
- Bidding on a quilt in the auction being held on Tuesday, February 28, 6 PM in the BorgWarner Room as part of The Art & Science of Quilting exhibit in support of the Library;
- Conveying your appreciation to the County Legislature for supporting TCPL.
