A Year of Art at the Library

"Visual Culture at IHS" art exhibit opens May 31st
Opening Reception on Friday, June 6th from 4 - 6 PM

“Visual Culture at IHS”, the annual Ithaca High School student art exhibit, will be on display at the Tompkins County Public Library, June 1-30, 2008.

The exhibit features drawings, paintings, prints, photos, mixed media and ceramics, which tell the stories of what the students see happening at Ithaca High School. Their images are personal portraits and perspectives of their school, their friends and their lives. Text and image, symbolism, faces and places are presented as a visual dialogue of these young artists' lives.

You are invited to join the student artists at an opening reception in the Borg Warner Community Meeting Room June 6 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The reception will feature music and refreshments. It is free and open to the public.

This exhibit has been made possible in part with support from the Ithaca City School District and a grant from the Fine Arts Booster Group.
