Program Description

About this event:

Craft a meaningful life and shape your future through poetry and creative writing! Dr. Regenspan will inspire writers by sharing and analyzing a poem or paragraph from contemporary fiction to determine how the author accomplished their work of art. Participants will then use the ideas and accomplishments discovered to spark their own literary journey. Writers will have an opportunity to share and workshop pieces with their peers, as well as receiving feedback from Dr. Regenspan herself.

Dr. Barbara Regenspan, a retired professor of educational studies at Colgate, has directed social justice-focused teacher education programs in English, Social Studies and L.A. for over 25 years. She retired to pursue work as an activist and a poet, and has had five poems published in the past few years. She currently teaches the Creative Writing elective at New Roots Charter School in Ithaca, NY.
