Discovery Trail
During the month of April visit the Library for a Discovery Trail display in the Avenue of Friends.

Cayuga Nature Center's TEAM Challenge ropes course features over 25 high and low elements located within a beautiful wooded area. The low ropes elements will help stimulate different team-building principles such as leadership, cooperation, awareness, and trust and is part of the Kids Discover the Trail and Trumansburg Kids Explore and Discover school programs.
One Fish, Two Fish, Old Fish, New Fish: Exploring the Evolution of Biodiversity currently on display at the Museum of the Earth. What is a species? What role can a species play in the living web of life on Earth? How do species arise and decline and more! Be sure to visit our live animals and check out an adventure backpack to make your experience truly amazing!
The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University presents Nature Observed and Imagined: Five Hundred Years of Chinese Painting, on view April 10 to June 13, 2010. Learn about calligraphy and some of the many other styles of Chinese painting, and see how Chinese masters depicted nature as an extension of human life.
"The History Center in Tompkins County helps people use the tools of history to understand the past, gain perspective on the present, and play an informed role in shaping the future". Our display at the TCPL is a reflection of The History Center's mission, and includes items from the various programs at our institution. These include our memorable living history Eight Square Schoolhouse Program for primary schoolers, our engaging Student Historian program for teens, our 'Walk Through Time' city of Ithaca and haunted history tours, and the wide-ranging, comprehensive services offered in our Research Library.
Cornell's Lab of Ornithology's annual migration day celebration on May 22 offers the community guided bird walks, guided nest monitoring walks, interactive research exhibits, bird banding and the Cornell Raptor program with live birds of prey.
The Sciencenter display highlights the 25th Sciencenter Egg Drop. In the display case visitors get a taste of the fun to come! Coming up on Sunday, April 18th, the event is the longest running annual egg drop contest in the world. The contest will be held at Center Ithaca on The Commons, and is free and open to the public. Bring your weird, wacky and wonderful creations to Center Ithaca on April 18, from 9-10 a.m. to register for the 11 a.m. drop and 1-2 p.m. to register for the 3 p.m. drop.
