The Art Behind the Scientist or The Secret Life of Scientists

Butterfly Catastrophe A new series of exhibits featuring the work of artists more normally known for their scientific work.

The first exhibit features the sculpture by Francis Charles Moon, Joseph C. Ford Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. This series of exhibits to be shown at Tompkins County Public Library during 2010 will feature the work of local artists more normally known for their scientific work.

This exhibit features the sculpture of Francis Charles Moon who carves his pieces using mainly local wood. Moon’s pieces are frequently inspired by mathematical concepts most notably Chaos Theory. The exhibit will be on display in the Ezra Cornell Reading room at TCPL during January and February and Moon will be present at the library during Light in Winter Gallery Opening night, Friday January 22.
