Accessing the Tompkins County Library Solar Electric System Online

Power Light Solar Electric Systems LogoTompkins County and PowerLight maintain an online performance tracking website where you can get information about how much power and energy the solar electric system is producing. To log on to this site, follow the four steps outlined below:

  1. Point your web browser to www.powerlight.com/mypowerlight.

    Log into the account:
    Note:
    The username and password are case sensitive and must be entered as shown above.
    User ID: library
    Password: solarpower

    Select the units in which you'd like to view your data. Only temperature and wind speed data are affected by this choice - all power and energy measures are displayed in kW and kWh regardless of your choice of units.
  2. Begin navigating through the website by clicking "View Client Summary" or by selecting one of the options from the left-hand side of the page.
  • The website allows you to view information about how much energy the solar electric system produced in a number of formats.
  • The Summary Page shows how much energy was produced yesterday and how much has been produced this year.
  • The Detailed Summary Page gives an in-depth picture of solar energy and power production and the weather for the day.
  • The Data Chart Page allows you to make graphs of the solar energy production of the system for up to 31 days at a time.
  • The Download Data Page enables you to track the performance of the system over time by downloading tables of historical data.
  • Check out the PowerLight website for more information on how electricity is generated from sunlight.
